Things to do in Erzurum

Erzurum, also known as the land of Dadaşlar, was firstly located within the borders of the Eastern Roman Empire and later hosted many civilizations such as Sassanids, Cimmerians, Scythians, Medes, Byzantines, Persians, Urartians, Romans, Mongols, Ilkhanids, Safavis and Seljuks. It is possible to see the cultural diversity in the historical artifacts it has. There are many reasons for those who come to ski in Erzurum, which is famous for its ski resort on Palandöken Mountain, to take a cultural trip. Some of these are:

Double Minaret Madrasa

It was built at the end of the 13th century during the Seljuk period. The madrasah has nineteen rooms on the ground floor and eighteen rooms on the first floor.

Yakutiye Madrasa

It is the largest of the madrasahs with covered courtyards in Anatolia, which was built by the Ilkhanid Ruler in 1310.
